The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting on-site construction activities for heavy civil projects involving government, state, military, and private clients. Required Skills
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety programs and site safety management. Experience with heavy civil/horizontal construction projects involving excavation and earth moving, heavy concrete, underground utilities, etc. is important. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations. Familiarity with safety management systems and software. Strong knowledge of construction and industrial safety regulations and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees, contractors, and stakeholders. Ability to lead and facilitate safety training sessions and meetings. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify safety hazards and develop effective solutions. Attention to detail and ability to enforce safety protocols consistently. Construction Quality Control experience is a plus.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & SafetyEnvironmental ScienceEngineeringor a related field is preferred. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilitiesincluding military bases.
Key Requirements
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and contractors working on construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of projects by implementing and enforcing safety standards and protocols set by AIS Infrastructure.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and potential risks in the workplace.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans and activities.
- Provide safety training and orientation to employees and contractors, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss situations, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and safety-related communications.
- Conduct job hazard analyses to identify and address potential risks associated with specific tasks or job sites.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to safety in construction and industrial services.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety requirements and maintain positive relationships.
