Because Carlsbad is located in a New Mexico area of critical need, eligible physicians may qualify for up to $300,000 in student-loan repayment in exchange for a four-year service commitment.
Position Highlights
Team Structure:
Care team manage daily bread-and-butter OR surgeries across four operating rooms, supported by skilled surgeons and staff. OVERTIME FOR OVER 40 hours a week!!
Case mix excludes heads, hearts, and trauma.
Call Schedule:
Call is every fourth week, covering Monday to Thursday, 7 PM to 7 AM. No daytime work during your call week.
No call responsibilities for the remaining three weeks each month.
Work-Life Balance:
On non-call weeks, you go home as soon as your cases are done.

Job requirements:
MD or DO with completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Active New Mexico Medical License or eligibility to obtain one before start date
Current ACLS and PALS certifications
Eligible to work in the United States
Comfortable working in a collaborative care-team model with CRNAs
Willing to participate in a 1-in-4 call rotation (Monday–Thursday, 7 PM–7 AM)
Experience with general, orthopedic, outpatient, regional, and obstetric anesthesia preferred
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
