About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join their team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work under the guidance of a licensed fire protection engineer, contributing to diverse projects involving code consulting and fire protection system design.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of fire protection systems, including both active and passive systems.
  • Prepare construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform fire protection calculations to ensure system compliance.
  • Conduct NFPA and building code reviews for project designs.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and collaborate with team members.
  • Analyze data from reports, maps, studies, and drawings to support project decisions.
  • Communicate findings and results effectively to engineers, management, and stakeholders.
  • Visit project sites to document and verify conditions.
  • Engage with clients, agencies, and contractors through professional correspondence and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
  • 0–5 years of experience in evaluating and designing fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within the office and with external stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subconsultants.
