We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) in San Diego, CA. This role involves working on avionics and electrical systems for military aircraft, ensuring their performance and reliability.
What You’ll Do:
You will apply engineering principles to research, design, modify, and test electrical and avionics systems for F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft. Your responsibilities will include developing technical documentation, such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Technical Directives (TDs), to implement system upgrades and modifications. You will create detailed instructions, drawings, and work packages for technical manuals and fleet documentation.
You will also provide on-site support for validation, verification, and installation of equipment. This includes troubleshooting issues, documenting deficiencies, and recommending solutions to improve system integration and performance.
What We’re Looking For:
You must have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in an engineering role, with a focus on electrical or avionics systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Active security clearance is mandatory, as this role supports government contracts.
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop clear and accurate documentation are essential. Experience with military aircraft systems, particularly F/A-18 and EA-18G platforms, is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, onsite position with a salary range of $100,000-$130,000 per year.
