We are seeking a Chief Estimator to join our team in Tucson. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will lead and mentor a team of estimators while ensuring accurate and competitive bids for construction projects. You will play a key role in evaluating bid opportunities, identifying risks, and finding ways to improve project estimates.
In this role, you will assist and mentor estimating staff, review bids for accuracy, and coordinate with teams to ensure all estimates align with project goals. You will prepare quantity takeoffs, maintain accurate labor and equipment rates, and review plans to identify areas of risk and opportunity. You will also participate in pre-bid meetings, site tours, and contribute to the overall success of the estimating team.
To succeed in this role, you need a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. At least 15 years of construction experience is required if you do not have a degree. You should have a strong understanding of construction processes, including crew sizes, equipment rates, and material costs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HCSS estimating software is essential. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings are required.
