Position Overview

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit, accounting, and tax services to a portfolio of privately held businesses and individual clients. This position requires strong technical knowledge, analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work closely with clients, partners, and other team members to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial reporting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit & Financial Reporting:

    • Perform financial audits, compilations, and reviews for various clients across different industries.
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Identify and resolve accounting and financial discrepancies.
    • Assist in the development of audit plans, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Tax Compliance & Advisory:

    • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients to optimize financial outcomes.
    • Research tax-related issues and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing tailored financial solutions.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor, addressing client inquiries and assisting with financial decision-making.
    • Participate in client meetings, presenting findings, and making recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Mentor and support junior staff by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
    • Collaborate with partners and senior management on complex client engagements and special projects.
    • Contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying new business opportunities and participating in networking events.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should have a strong background in public accounting and financial analysis.

  • Education & Certification:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • CPA certification is highly preferred or must be in progress.
  • Experience:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in audit, tax, and accounting within a public accounting firm.
    • Strong expertise in compilations, reviews, and taxation for privately held businesses.
    • Proven ability to conduct financial audits and perform detailed financial analysis.
  • Technical & Professional Skills:

    • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in financial statement preparation, tax research, and audit documentation.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex financial data.
    • Experience using accounting software and financial reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, CCH Axcess, Lacerte, or similar).
  • Soft Skills & Work Ethic:
