Description:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and lead the development and delivery of comprehensive construction estimates for a wide range of public works and heavy civil construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all estimating efforts align with company objectives and performance goals, while providing technical expertise and leadership throughout the estimating process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full estimating process, including the solicitation of bids from vendors and subcontractors, tracking progress, following up, and reporting on multiple concurrent estimates.
  • Assist in preparing technical narratives for RFP and RFQ responses.
  • Develop, refine, and communicate process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of estimating practices.
  • Ensure the timely completion of estimates, meeting tight deadlines and assigned budgets, including coordinating timely reviews with senior management.
  • Actively participate in industry organizations to stay informed on the latest trends, practices, and innovations within the construction sector.


Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including at least 3 years specifically in estimating.
  • Solid understanding of construction practices related to earthwork and concrete construction projects.
  • Expertise with unit price contracting.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and Insite Takeoff preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed for business purposes.
