About the Role

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Project Manager will oversee the full project lifecycle for mechanical and electrical engineering projects, from initiation through completion. This role combines technical leadership, team management, and client-facing responsibilities to ensure successful delivery of high-quality, profitable projects.


Key Responsibilities


Project Management

  • Initiate Projects: Collaborate with Principals to establish project teams, develop detailed work scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Manage Implementation: Oversee project execution to ensure work is performed according to scope, on time, and within budget. Keep clients informed and provide guidance to project teams.
  • Coordinate Across Teams: Work with other project managers to resolve scheduling conflicts and streamline resource allocation.
  • Provide Technical Input: Contribute to project recommendations and offer technical expertise when required.
  • Maintain Project Status: Keep project reporting systems updated, enabling timely responses to client requests.
  • Deliver Quality Outputs: Follow internal review and quality control processes to ensure final reports and presentations meet the highest standards.


Business & Fiscal Management

  • Identify Opportunities: Communicate potential business leads, competitive intelligence, and industry trends to leadership.
  • Control Costs: Monitor project costs against budgets for time, travel, and materials; issue change notices when needed.
  • Maximize Profitability: Ensure projects are priced, resourced, and managed to achieve strong profit margins.


Administrative & Team Development

  • Manage Project Staff: Mentor, support, and evaluate team members to help them achieve their full potential.


Relationship Building

  • Develop Business: Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Client Engagement: Meet regularly with key clients to review project progress, gather feedback, and identify new opportunities.


Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ consulting engineering experience with diverse projects.
  • Previous project management experience required; PE registration in multiple states preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of desk/computer work.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
