Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. In this full-time, onsite role, you will lead a field crew in performing a wide range of surveys, including:
Construction staking
Topographic surveys
Route surveys
ALTA surveys
Boundary surveys
You will be responsible for setting up and operating survey equipment, collecting and analyzing data, preparing detailed survey reports, and ensuring accuracy across all projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will supervise and mentor field crew members to deliver exceptional results.
Key Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of field surveying experience preferred
Proficiency in construction staking, topographic, route, ALTA, and boundary surveys
Skilled in operating Total Station and GNSS equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Relevant certifications and/or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with INDOT projects is a plus, though not required
