In this leadership role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver landmark projects that shape the San Diego community. This is an opportunity to influence meaningful work, mentor junior staff, and partner with clients to turn ambitious visions into reality.
Qualifications
- Education: BSCE degree required.
- Licensing: California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience:
- 8–12 years of relevant industry experience OR 12–15 years of equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a management role supervising technical staff.

- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Skilled in building and maintaining positive client and public-agency relationships.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and management of construction documents and contracts.
- Direct construction support services and field coordination.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
- Lead client and public-agency interactions.
- Supervise design and support staff, providing mentorship and guidance.
Technical Expertise
- Ability to perform conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies, incorporating land use, zoning, site constraints, infrastructure needs, and regulatory considerations.
- Preparation and processing of regulatory and public improvement plans (private and public).
- Conduct constructability reviews.
- Provide a range of construction support services.
- Strong knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures within California is preferred.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is required.

- Deep understanding of engineering principles, project management, and resource allocation.
- Strategic planning and team coordination skills, including hiring and mentoring staff.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to prepare exhibits, studies, and final plans using CAD tools.
- Proven ability to set realistic goals, accept responsibility, and make independent decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and public agencies.
