About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Construction Field Manager to oversee our on-site welding and fabrication operations. In this role, you will manage field crews, uphold safety and quality standards, coordinate schedules, and ensure seamless execution across multiple job sites. Your leadership will be key in maintaining our reputation for excellence in structural steel fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Operations Leadership: Supervise and coordinate welding crews, manage daily operations, and maintain project schedules.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets AWS, ASME, and AISC standards, as well as internal QA/QC procedures.
  • Site Visits & Inspections: Conduct regular field inspections, troubleshoot issues, and support foremen and welders as needed.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the fabrication shop to align fieldwork with production schedules and delivery goals.
  • Resource & Logistics Management: Oversee equipment maintenance, material handling, and crew resource allocation.
  • Crew Development: Mentor and train team members, conduct performance reviews, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Track progress, labor hours, and costs; assist in preparing field-related reports, submittals, and change orders.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in welding/fabrication with field crew supervision and operations management.
  • Certifications: AWS or ASME certifications strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of welding methods, codes, blueprint reading, and inspection processes.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in scheduling, team development, and performance management.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to job sites.
  • Education: High School diploma required; technical certifications or journeyman/welder background a plus.
