About the Role

We are seeking a local, detail-oriented Project Estimator with experience in the Plumbing & HVAC industry to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role that combines construction estimating and project management, requiring strong analytical skills, cost control expertise, and the ability to contribute to successful project delivery. Candidates must be local to our office and customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions, collect measurements, and verify scope of work.
  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed project proposals for managers and clients.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and pricing to improve estimating accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Local candidate – must reside near Gorham, ME.
  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
  • Plumbing & HVAC licenses or work history strongly preferred.
  • Prior field experience on construction sites is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
  • Strong understanding of cost control measures and pricing strategies.
  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, general contractors, subcontractors, and homeowners.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
