Role Summary

The General Manager will lead the business unit and all manufacturing activities, providing strategic and operational oversight to ensure the facility meets financial goals, production schedules, and rigorous safety and quality standards. This role requires a blend of high-level business acumen and deep technical knowledge of pressure vessel fabrication.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations, including production planning, scheduling, and shop floor management for fabrication activities.
  • P&L Management: Take full ownership of the business unit and facility's Profit & Loss, developing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Quality & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all products adhere to ASME Section VIII (Division 1 & 2), TEMA, API 660, and other applicable standards.
  • Safety Culture: Foster a ""safety-first"" environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols to protect the workforce.
  • Cross-Functional Management: Take full ownership of Engineering, Procurement, and Sales teams to align manufacturing timelines with customer requirements and project milestones.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production processes, reduce scrap, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Talent Management: Hire, mentor, and train a high-performing team of engineers, welders, and QA/QC technicians.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, with shell and tube heat exchanger and pressure vessel preferred.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Thorough understanding of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, TEMA, and API 660.
  • Familiarity with thermal and mechanical design software (e.g., HTRIPV Elite Compress) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of specialized welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, SAW) and NDT procedures (RT, UT, PT).
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication.


Preferred Skills

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience with U-Stamp and R-Stamp certification processes.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale capital projects or plant expansions.
