We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rough Carpentry Project Manager with a strong background in commercial and residential multi-unit construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of rough carpentry techniques, materials, and the associated costs in commercial building environments. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in estimating and strong project management capabilities to ensure successful execution from start to finish.


Project Management:

  • Manage and oversee multiple commercial rough carpentry projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, pricing, manpower evaluation, blueprint revision pricing, change order pricing, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating activities across teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Also, be able to assess the jobsite. Production efficiency is being maintained to ensure a profitable outcome of the project.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers, to provide updates and address concerns.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, track expenses, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and assess troubled job or site conditions before they impact project profitability.
  • Review and approve invoices and change orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
  • Management abilities and experience running a department are a plus.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance and control measures to uphold high standards of workmanship.
  • Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred; however, a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for the degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial, residential, and multi-unit rough carpentry.
  • Strong knowledge of rough carpentry methods, materials, and applicable building codes.
  • Wood framing background required.
  • Field experience is a plus.
  • Management experience and the ability to run a department are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, and Quick Bid.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and negotiate effectively.
