Job Summary We are seeking a local detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator in the Plumbing & HVAC field to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating, and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications, prepare accurate cost estimates, and contribute to successful project execution. This role requires a keen knowledge of the Plumbing and HVAC industry. It also requires that the candidate be LOCAL to our office and our customer base.
Responsibilities
Ability to analyze a project by physically observing sites or by drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions, gather data and measurements, and ensure accurate estimates.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Prepare detailed proposals to present to project managers or customers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to enhance estimating accuracy.
Qualifications
Must be Local to our office and our customer base.
Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
Plumbing & HVAC industry related licenses or work history is a plus.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies in the construction industry.
Previous experience on construction sites is preferred to understand practical aspects of projects.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimation processes.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with suppliers, GCs, subcontractors, and residential home owners .
Ability to multi-task and provide estimates in a timely manner.
