Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Survey Crew Chief, located in Fort Wayne, IN. The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for leading a crew in conducting various types of surveys, including construction staking, topographic, route, ALTA, and boundary surveys. Day-to-day tasks will include setting up and operating survey equipment, collecting and analyzing data, ensuring accuracy and precision, preparing detailed survey reports, and supervising field crew members.
Qualifications
Experience in fieldwork for Construction Staking, Topographic Surveys, Route Surveys, ALTA Surveys, and Boundary Surveys
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in field surveying practices is preferred
Skilled in operating Total Station and GNSS equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites
Relevant certifications and/or an associate/bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related field are preferred, though not required if experience equates such achievements.
Understanding of INDOT projects is a plus, though not required.
