We are an MBE/SBE/DBE consulting firm which provides civil design, construction management, and resident engineering inspection services to both public and private sectors. To continue our growth in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, we look for diverse people who share our pioneering spirit to join our Construction Services Division to support our on-going projects. We are committed to excellence and to providing our clients with a productive, proactive, and innovative service. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer with PE license to join our team immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing construction documents, including concept, schematic, and final plans, to produce high-level quantity and cost estimates, particularly for concrete and steel-related items.
- Maintaining comprehensive project records.
- Preparing detailed construction progress meeting minutes.
- Assessing the accuracy of estimates prepared by designers and other consultants.
- Performing project visits, as necessary, to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Assisting in the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, and other technical documents.
- Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
- Staying updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to engineering.
- Participating in internal and external meetings to discuss project progress and resolve issues.
- Preparing change orders and material testing reports.
- Demonstrating considerable knowledge in establishing and maintaining project records.
Qualifications:
- Strong ability to produce accurate quantity and cost estimates.
- Excellent project record maintenance and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in preparing meeting minutes and technical reports.
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy in assessing estimates and reviewing submittals.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of ASHTOware and Compass software is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- NICET II-IV certification, Professional Engineering License, CCM/CMIT Certification preferred.
- NETTCP Certifications preferred.
- CTDOT experience highly preferred.
