Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead project teams in designing and developing mechanical system construction documents for healthcare building projects. This role involves overseeing the complete design of mechanical systems while ensuring alignment with project budgets, client goals, and coordination across disciplines. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in healthcare design, a detail-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills, and strong communication abilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical design and quality control for assigned projects, including calculations and layouts for all mechanical systems.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in engineering and compliance with current codes.
  • Oversee the production of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and facility additions.
  • Conduct construction administration tasks, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance cost efficiency.
  • Mentor mechanical designers and assist with quality assurance reviews.


Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
  • Experience designing healthcare building systems.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.
  • Medical gas design experience preferred but not required.


Certifications & Licenses

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related tasks.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Legally authorized to work permanently in the country of employment without restrictions or sponsorship.
